Royal Society Te Apārangi is taking steps to try to minimise the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on its operations, while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff, the people and communities with whom we work. Kia tū, kia oho, kia mataara tātou. Let us all be vigilant against COVID-19
Marsden Fund Full Round 2021 – Update for Research Offices and Applicants
With the recent move to Alert Level 4 for at least 7 days in Auckland and Coromandel, and at least three days for the rest of Aotearoa New Zealand, we anticipate disruption to researchers and research offices, especially in Auckland. As a result, at this stage we are extending the main applicant response deadline for referee reports by 6 days, to noon on Tuesday 7th September 2021. This is the latest we can extend the deadline whilst still allowing panel members enough time to read the applicant responses before the panel meetings.
- The main response deadline will be changed on the applicant portal soon.
- For any late referee reports, as usual we will notify research offices and the contact PI by email and give a deadline for the response. We will endeavour to give applicants as much time as possible to respond to late reports, but this will depend on the lateness of the report and the date of the panel meeting in September.
- For any late reports received after Wednesday 18th August up to and including Tuesday 24th August, the response deadline will remain at noon Tuesday 7th September.
- For any late reports received from Wednesday 25th onwards, the deadline will be set on a case-by-case basis (see above) so that the applicant has as much time to respond as possible.
At this stage we hope to be able to keep to our timetable, including the scheduled September panel meetings.
Kia kaha tātou ki te tiaki i a tātou anō. Let us be vigilant and take care of ourselves and others.
