Claudine Stirling FRSNZ: It’s elemental: tracking Earth’s environmental history using trace metal isotopes

Small variations in the isotopic signatures of trace metals can be used to track the biogeochemical processes at work, both today and in the past. Claudine will show how the heaviest naturally occurring element – uranium – provides key information on how early Earth formed and how Earth’s climate responded to major environmental change throughout geologic history.
