Genetics of reproduction in health and disease.
Rare and common genetic factors influence reproductive traits and diseases. Research over 30 years has identified rare variants in sheep increasing twinning, and common variants in women influencing puberty, menopause, twinning, breast cancer, ovarian cancer and endometriosis. The next challenge is to understand the functional consequences of key genetic variants.
