Gene editing in Aotearoa: Schools’ workshops
11 April | Auckland
Gene editing in Aotearoa
Royal Society Te Apārangi is convening a multi-disciplinary panel to consider the potential uses and implications of Gene editing in Aotearoa.
Our first two discussion papers were released late 2017 on Healthcare and Pest Control.
This panel is hosting a series of workshops to receive feedback from stakeholders considering the social, ethical, cultural, legal, scientific and economic challenges of gene editing technology for New Zealand.
Gene editing in Aotearoa: Schools’ workshops
As a part of this investigation, Royal Society Te Apārangi recognises that school students have questions, opinions and concerns about gene editing and invites Y12 and Y13 students and their teachers (of any and all disciplines) to attend and take part in a Schools’ workshop.
To participate, students and teachers are to consider and be prepared to respond to the following questions:
• Should gene editing form part of our healthcare options?
• Should gene editing be part of New Zealand’s tool box for pest control?
Schools offering AS91602, AS91607 and or AS91601 may find these workshops of particular interest.
Please note the change in venue.
Seats are limited to the first 100. Spaces are filling fast!!!!!!
