2024: Dr Karamia Müller of Waipapa Taumata Rau The University of Auckland will pioneer Pacific-led research to improve housing outcomes for Pacific communities in Aotearoa New Zealand

Appropriate housing is critical for health and wellbeing, yet research and decision making very rarely considers cultural practices, social institutions, community dynamics, or traditional knowledge of Pacific Peoples. Using established Pacific models, Dr Müller will work with families, groups and governments in Aotearoa New Zealand, Canada, and the United States of America to determine which policies are most effective to provide better homes for Pacific peoples.
