How to achieve a Silver CREST

  1. Start a project log.
  2. Choose an interesting issue, problem, question, or topic.
  3. Explore ideas.Discuss your ideas with others
  4. Find a mentor/consultant and identify an assessor.
  5. Start project plan and timelineClarify aim, need or opportunity.
  6. Prepare and submit  a project proposal and send to CREST.The information provided is used by a Silver CREST reviewer to confirm that  ideas are suitable for a CREST project. The reviewer  will look at the following questions when considering projects:Is your project safe? Is it ethical? Is it feasible? Is it challenging? Is it a CREST project?
  7. Finalise Project plans.
  8. Carry out the plans.
  9. Collate and analyse results.
  10. Compile a report.
  11. Produce a project poster  (for Silver Challenge only)
  12. Present poster (for Silver Challenge only)
  13. Self-assess  project using the Criteria for Assessment sheet. When all is complete, have final meeting with assessor.
  14. Congratulations! Prepare to receive your Silver CREST certificate and badge.
