Games for Learning conference
31 August-1 September | Wellington
For games-curious educators, researchers, innovators, policy makers, game developers and social entrepreneurs
NZCER invites all games-curious educators, researchers, innovators, policy makers, game developers and social entrepreneurs to attend.
Games are one of the most ancient ways people, especially children, learned. Games exist in every culture; they’ve been around much longer than schools. Games have the power to engage people’s hearts, minds, and bodies, so why wouldn’t we use them to support better, richer, and deeper learning? Games are also the present of learning. It follows that games are also the future of learning. If you want to stay relevant and be part of that future, this is the conference for you.
Register before 16 August to avoid the late fee.
The six featured talks draw out the key themes for the conference:
- building young people’s digital capabilities
- Māori and other indigenous perspectives
- learning through game design
- post-school pathways
- gamification
- The New Zealand Curriculum or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.
