ECR 102: Job Hopping for ECRs

Early Career Researchers typically change their role and workplace multiple times. Increasingly, these changes are taking ECRs beyond traditional settings such as universities into roles in government and the private sector.

This webinar aims to help ECRs to think through possible next steps in their career and the skills and support needed to make the most of these opportunities. Researchers who have made the jump from academia to applied research, government or industry and back will share their experiences and what helped them to navigate transitions in their careers.

Panel:

  • Dr Brooke Wilson (Te Whatu Ora, Liggins Institute)
  • Dr Carolyn Mander (Ministry for the Environment)
  • Dr Álvaro Orsi (Environmental Science and Research)
  • Dr Samantha Heath (University of Waikato)

Facilitated by Dr Kristie Cameron (Unitec, Co-chair ECR forum)
