Agriculture and the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) How do we enable farmers to respond?

The New Zealand Institute for Agricultural & Horticultural Science are holding a forum on Friday 14th September 2018 to discuss addressing biological agricultural emissions, a paramount challenging issue for New Zealand’s low-emissions pathway.

Almost half of New Zealand’s gross emissions are biological emissions from agriculture, and mainly pastoral agriculture (New Zealand Ministry for the Environment 2016).

Many of the adaption and mitigation options for agriculture have been identified, and other innovative land use options are being conceived. There are quite a lot of options for reducing emissions from agriculture.

This Forum will review, assess and discuss the choices available for government and farmers to act upon.
