A New and Game-Changing Way of Growing Oysters

Shaun and his wife Ngawini have been working in the oyster industry for over 20 years. They are based in Kaeo. Their business is supplying a new method of growing shellfish which will be disruptive to the industry on a global scale as automation and branding is introduced.

They founded the company (AMSNZL – Aqua Mould Systems NZ Ltd), in 2013. Their company now has 13 shareholdings and has I.P in 36 Countries. They are at present completing commercial tooling after extensive R & D over the last six years and expect to be licensing I.P and products by November 2020 on a global scale.

The key factors on their journey have been securing I.P protection, proof of concept, securing investors and implementing a capital raise, finding suppliers and finalising supply agreements, building a business that can be upscaled, licensing applications and, overall, building a solid foundation to support a growing business.
