2018 Survey for Early Career Researchers
If you’re an Early Career Researcher (ECR), we want to better understand who you are, what matters to you, and the types of support you would like.
Early Career Researchers (ECRs) are important to longevity and performance of research-related
industries in Aotearoa New Zealand, including tertiary education institutions, Crown Research
Institutes, and private business.
Yet little is known about the demographic features of the ECR population, their experiences, their attitudes, and their professional intentions. This project involves a national online survey of ECRs that will address these knowledge gaps.
An ECR is defined by the Royal Society Te Apārangi as being an active researcher who is within 10 years of completing the highest research qualification held, excluding parental and other forms of leave.
The online survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete, is completely anonymous and will assist the Early Career Researcher Forum to better represent and support Aotearoa New Zealand’s ECR community.
